About St. Lucia

St. Lucia is a picturesque island located in the eastern Caribbean Sea. It is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning natural beauty, lush rainforests, and pristine beaches.

One of the main attractions in St. Lucia is its iconic twin peaks, the Pitons, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dramatically rising from the sea. Visitors can hike the Gros Piton for breathtaking views of the island or relax on one of the many beautiful beaches.

The island is also famous for the Sulphur Springs, the world’s only drive-in volcano, where visitors can take a mud bath in the therapeutic hot springs. The island is also home to the Diamond Botanical Gardens, a peaceful oasis with a variety of tropical plants and a picturesque waterfall.

St. Lucia is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide range of activities such as snorkeling, diving, hiking, and zip-lining through the rainforest canopy. The island’s vibrant culture is reflected in its music, dance, and cuisine, which is a unique blend of African, French, and Caribbean influences.

Important Information

All participants must be registered to attend the conference. Unregistered individuals will not be assigned dormitory accommodations or receive conference T-shirts, which are included in the registration package. 

Excursions & Special Events

Thursday 17th – Opening Ceremony

  • This is a united service with delegates, local church congregants, and government officials.
  • Dress Code: Formal and respectful attire. If your island has an official T-shirt, you may wear it. Consult your youth leaders for guidance if unsure.

 

Friday 18th – Sports Afternoon

  • Activities include volleyball, track, and other sports.
  • What to Bring: Proper running shoes and modest athletic attire.

 

Saturday 19th –  Town Excursion 

  • An afternoon trip to explore and shop in town. The shopping area is a short bus ride from the campus.
  • Transportation Cost: $3 EC one way

 

Sunday 20th –  Local Church Services

  • Delegates will attend Sunday morning services at local churches in the area.
  • Transportation: Provided.
  • Dress Code: Appropriate church attire.

 

Monday 21st –  Banquet an All-White Wonderland 

  • The auditorium will be transformed into an All-White Wonderland for a special event.
  • Dress Code: White attire (not mandatory; please do not incur unnecessary expenses).

 

Tuesday 22nd – Island Tour 

  • Visit local attractions, including the Sulphur Springs.
  • Note: If you plan to swim, bring clothing you don’t mind discarding afterward, as the sulfur may ruin them. Changing rooms are available.
  • Transportation Cost: To be announced.

 

Regular Sessions 

  • Morning sessions will last 45 minutes.
  • Dress Code: Dress appropriately for the day’s activities (e.g., sportswear on Friday for sports competition, casual attire on Saturday for town excursions).
  • Required Items: Bible and notebook.

Essentials: 

  • Bible and notebook
  • Toiletries (including toilet paper and personal hygiene products)
  • Sleeping bag or air mattress (pending confirmation—check for updates on Friday)
  • Water bottle (there are water fountains around the campus ), hat, and sunglasses (due to summer heat)
  • Bug spray for mosquitos
  • Spending money (for town trips and on-campus snack shack)

 

  • Ladies: Modest skirts/dresses, sportswear, loose pants, jeans, basketball shorts, sneakers, and banquet attire.
  • Gentlemen: Sportswear, swim shorts, and banquet attire.

 

Clothing:

  • No obscene language or imagery on shirts.
  • Skirts/pants must be of appropriate length (not excessively above the knee).
  • Belts required for loose-fitting pants.
  • Banquet attire should be modest (no tight, short, or revealing clothing).

 

Conduct Between Delegates: 

  • Maintain respectful distance at all times.
  • No inappropriate physical contact.
  • No entering opposite-gender dormitories.

 

Respect for Leaders:

  • Leaders are present for your safety and guidance—treat them with respect.
  • No profanity or disrespectful behavior.
  • Disagreements should be brought to the Dean of Men/Women or team leader.

 

Dormitory Expectations:

  • Respect dorm leaders and assistants.
  • Be prepared to serve and assist with assigned tasks.
  • Report any issues promptly.

 

To minimize distractions and encourage fellowship: 

  • Phones will be collected after the Opening Ceremony and stored securely.
  • They will be returned for the town excursion on Saturday and collected again afterward.
  • Final return will be on the banquet night.
  • Note: Ensure your phone is charged before being taken, as charging will not be provided at the secure location.
  • Adult leaders and dorm leaders will retain their phones but are asked to use them discreetly.
